This floor painting is much too pretty to just suck it up with, say, a vacuum, or sweep it up with, say, a broom, or even let the wind blow it away!

Not to make light of your celebration, but you could decorate the tree with ornaments of all faiths, topping it with an ornament symbolizing the Theory of Everything--Everything Faithful, that is.

(And please don't think I'm engaging in religion bashing. While PZ gets a bit rough with his bashing, I try to remain playful with mine...)

You have it slightly backwards - Diwali is a celebration of light.
